Tongkat ali: what matters before you buy

Tongkat ali products are dietary supplements built around *Eurycoma longifolia*, usually marketed for energy, libido, mood, testosterone, stamina, strength, or workout recovery. The central buying question is not whether a label says “high potency,” “200:1,” or “1,500 mg.” It is whether the finished product contains an authenticated tongkat ali preparation at a known dose, and whether that preparation resembles the one studied in humans.

Extract ratios are a common source of confusion. A 100:1, 200:1, or 300:1 ratio describes how much starting material was used relative to the extract, but it does not establish the amount of eurycomanone or another active marker. A large raw-herb-equivalent number is therefore not directly comparable with a clinical dose. Look for the plant part ideally root extraction basis, validated HPLC, UPLC, or LC-MS marker testing, and a certificate of analysis that reports the result. The supplied reviews repeatedly found that human studies used defined, often standardized root or root-water extracts, commonly around 100 to 400 mg daily, while many products disclosed only an extract ratio.

Quality evidence should be tied to the exact finished product. The strongest independent signal is current certification in a public register such as the NSF Certified Dietary Supplements database, NSF Certified for Sport lot database, USP Verified Dietary Supplement Product Listings, or Informed Sport or Informed Choice databases where a sport claim is made. Facility GMP status is not the same as certification of the bottle you buy. A product claiming third-party testing should also provide a recent lot-matched report showing the lot number and expiration date, the laboratory identity, and results for identity, labeled amount, contaminants, and relevant adulterants. Where laboratory accreditation is claimed, its ISO/IEC 17025 scope should be verifiable through A2LA or ANAB directories.

The Supplement Facts panel should state the daily tongkat ali amount and every other active ingredient separately. Proprietary blends, conflicting serving statements, and unsupported raw-herb-equivalent arithmetic make it difficult to judge dose or interactions. For multi-ingredient products, every botanical, mineral, stimulant, hormone precursor, and extract should be individually quantified, with warnings appropriate to the whole formula. Finished-product testing should address lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, microbes, pesticides, and especially for testosterone, libido, energy, or performance products hidden prescription-drug analogues, hormones, stimulants, and sport-banned substances.

Marketing should stay within the evidence. Claims to raise testosterone, treat low testosterone or erectile dysfunction, build muscle, or produce rapid sexual effects are not established merely by tradition, animal research, a different extract, or a nominal ratio. A responsible product should make clear what its actual preparation and dose can support.

Recurring safety cautions are important. The supplied reviews repeatedly advise against use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in children and minors, and without clinician review when prescription medicines or chronic conditions are involved. Liver concerns recur: tongkat ali has rare possible liver-injury reports, while long-term and high-dose safety remain uncertain. Fadogia agrestis appears in several formulas despite limited human safety evidence and animal toxicity signals. DHEA-containing products add hormone-related concerns. Yohimbe and high-dose zinc were specifically flagged in one product, and California lead or arsenic warnings appeared on others. People with unexplained fatigue, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, infertility, liver or kidney disease, hormone-sensitive conditions, or other persistent symptoms should seek clinical assessment rather than self-treat with a testosterone-marketed supplement. Competitive athletes should require current sport certification and lot-level screening.

Integrity

These topics separate a recognizable, reasonably documented tongkat ali product from one supported mainly by label language. Scores reflect the supplied product reviews; higher-scoring products generally provided clearer labels or stronger lot evidence, while lower-scoring products left important dose, safety, or verification questions unanswered.

EEvidence

Independent product certification

This asks whether the exact finished supplement—not merely its factory or ingredient supplier—is currently listed by NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice where relevant. A high score requires a verifiable public-register entry. None of the supplied products had verified finished-product certification; facility-level GMP or NSF wording therefore did not establish certification of the bottle.

Batch-specific independent lab proof

A strong product provides a recent report matched to the purchased lot and expiration date from an identifiable independent laboratory, covering identity, amount, contaminants, and relevant adulterants. The supplied scores were highest where a finished-lot report could be matched, especially for metals and microbes. Scores were lower when reports were old, manufacturer-only, lacked laboratory accreditation, or could not be tied to the bottle sold.

Honest testosterone, libido, and performance claims

This measures whether marketing stays within the evidence and lawful structure/function boundaries. High-scoring products avoid promises to raise testosterone, treat erectile dysfunction, build muscle, or deliver rapid sexual effects beyond what their preparation supports. The supplied scores were reduced for broad or fast-acting claims, while simpler products with more restrained descriptions scored comparatively better.

Accountable manufacturing and clean regulatory record

A high score requires an identifiable responsible company, traceable lot information, credible cGMP oversight, and no applicable unresolved recall, warning letter, import alert, or health-fraud action. The supplied products generally identified a brand and manufacturer, but facility claims were not always independently verifiable. One company’s unauthorized NSF GMP certificate notice materially lowered its score.

HHealth & Safety

Real tongkat ali identity and meaningful potency

This measures whether the product identifies *Eurycoma longifolia* root, explains the extraction basis, and quantifies a meaningful marker such as eurycomanone. That matters because 100:1 or 200:1 ratios do not establish chemical potency. Among the supplied products, higher scores generally had a named species and plant part; lower scores lacked marker results, authentication records, or a comparable extract specification.

Clear dose and complete formula

A high score means the buyer can identify the tongkat ali amount and every other active per daily serving without a proprietary blend or conflicting directions. This is especially important in testosterone formulas containing tribulus, fadogia, DHEA, minerals, stimulants, or several botanicals. The supplied scores were highest for simple, individually quantified formulas and lowest where blends concealed doses or public labels disagreed.

Heavy-metal, pesticide, and microbe control

Root powders and concentrated botanicals can carry elemental contaminants, microbes, or pesticide residues. Strong evidence is a current finished-product report covering lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, microbiology, and pesticides against stated limits. The supplied products with lot reports covering metals and microbes scored better; products with only general testing claims, missing pesticide panels, or California exposure warnings scored lower.

Undeclared drug and banned-substance protection

This measures targeted screening for hidden prescription-drug analogues, hormones, stimulants, and sport-banned substances in products marketed for testosterone, libido, energy, or performance. A high score requires credible finished-lot testing, not a general purity statement. The supplied products with a Eurofins or comparable targeted screen scored better, while most products had no current sport screen or public adulterant report.

Formula safety and interaction warnings

The whole formula matters, not just tongkat ali. A high score means each active is quantified and the label addresses medication use, pregnancy, medical conditions, contraindications, and adverse reactions. The supplied products scored lower when they included fadogia, DHEA, yohimbe, high zinc, or many botanicals without individualized warnings. Simple formulas with basic adult-use cautions generally scored better.

Evidence at the dose actually sold

This measures whether human evidence applies to the product’s species, plant part, extraction method, marker level, daily dose, and co-ingredients. Tongkat studies cited in the reviews used defined standardized preparations, often around 100 to 400 mg daily. Higher-scoring products had a more plausible nominal dose or extract identity; low scores reflected unstandardized ratios, mixed formulas, or doses that could not be compared with trials.

EEcology

Responsible root sourcing and lower-waste packaging

This measures documented country of origin, cultivation or legal harvest, chain of custody, and packaging choices such as recyclable or reduced materials. Tongkat ali claims such as “sustainably sourced” are not enough without records. Across the supplied products, environmental scores clustered because most lacked public cultivation, harvest-permit, origin, or packaging documentation; a recyclable-pouch claim was still not independently substantiated.

aSquared Nutrition Tongkat Ali 1500mg Supplement
#1 - Best Overall

aSquared Nutrition Tongkat Ali 1500mg Supplement

Buyer Score 98/100Integrity Score 69/100aSquared Nutrition

Overview

This is a 120-capsule tongkat ali product intended for adults, with a manufacturer-stated serving of two capsules daily and a 60-day supply. The manufacturer states that each serving provides 1,500 mg of tongkat ali root extract in a proprietary blend of 300:1 and 25:1 extracts. An independent retailer repeats the listed active as Tongkat Ali root extract, Eurycoma longifolia, with a methylcellulose capsule. Its defining limitation is that the extract blend has no published eurycomanone level, split between extract ratios, extraction solvent, or publicly posted lot-specific certificate of analysis. The brand claims third-party purity and potency testing and GMP-facility production, but no report, laboratory identity, lot match, or recognized finished-product certification was located. The stated performance claims therefore rest on an extract that cannot be matched to the standardized preparations used in the better human studies.

What works

  • The disclosed formula lists one active botanical rather than combining multiple stimulant or hormone-oriented ingredients.
  • The product identifies the botanical as Eurycoma longifolia root extract, not only as longjack or tongkat ali.
  • A two-capsule daily routine and 120-capsule bottle provide a manufacturer-stated 60-day supply.
  • The manufacturer publicly discloses the total daily tongkat ali amount, 1,500 mg per serving.

What does not

  • The 300:1 and 25:1 proprietary blend does not disclose the amount of each extract or a tested marker such as eurycomanone.
  • No public lot-matched laboratory report was found for identity, labeled amount, heavy metals, pesticides, microbes, or undeclared drug adulterants.
  • No NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice finished-product certification was verified.
  • Marketing links the product to energy, endurance, muscle growth, recovery, and immunity, but human tongkat ali evidence is limited and involves different standardized extracts and lower doses.
  • The 1,500 mg labeled amount is not directly comparable with clinical doses because extract ratios do not establish chemical potency.

Who is it for

This product is most suited to an informed adult who specifically wants a simple, single-botanical tongkat ali capsule and values a two-month supply. That buyer should understand that the listed 1,500 mg is a proprietary blend of extract ratios, not a verified eurycomanone dose or a direct equivalent of clinical preparations. It is better suited to cautious self-monitoring than to someone seeking a medically reliable approach to testosterone, libido, athletic performance, fertility, or fatigue concerns.

Who is it not for

It is not appropriate for pregnant or breastfeeding people, children, people with liver disease, or anyone with unexplained fatigue, erectile dysfunction, infertility, or suspected low testosterone who needs clinical evaluation. People using prescription medicines or managing chronic conditions should ask a pharmacist or clinician before using it because product-specific interaction and safety data are not established. Competitive athletes and buyers who require verified banned-substance screening should choose a product with current sport-certification and lot-level testing evidence.

Integrity

Tongkat ali has some human research, mostly with defined standardized root-water extracts at about 100 to 400 mg daily. Reviews find possible modest testosterone effects in some men, while the evidence for athletic performance is weaker. This product does not disclose a marker level or extraction basis that would show it is comparable to those preparations. LiverTox notes that long-term safety and high-dose use have not been well characterized, and reports rare possible liver injury. The manufacturer claims GMP-facility production and third-party testing, but a current public certificate, laboratory, and lot match were not found. No recognized finished-product certification was verified. No product-specific recall, FDA warning letter, or health-fraud action was located in the searches performed. The brand also provides no public origin, cultivation, harvest, chain-of-custody, or packaging-recyclability documentation for this root extract, so environmental sourcing and waste claims cannot be assessed.

Double Wood Tongkat Ali Extract 200:1
#2 - Hot Deal

Double Wood Tongkat Ali Extract 200:1

Buyer Score 95/100Integrity Score 71/100Double Wood Supplements

Overview

This is a 120-capsule botanical supplement intended for adults, with a suggested serving of two capsules daily and 60 servings per bottle. The manufacturer’s current product page identifies the serving as 1,000 mg of Eurycoma longifolia root extract labeled 200:1, plus 20 mg Tribulus terrestris fruit extract. It is presented for vitality, exercise, libido, and testosterone-related support. The most concrete quality information is a posted certificate for lot 2524500, manufactured in November 2025 and expiring in November 2027. It reports the labeled amounts, identity by NIR comparison, four heavy-metal results, and microbiological pass results. The report does not provide eurycomanone or another quantified tongkat marker, pesticide results, targeted drug-adulterant screening, or public proof that the laboratory is independently accredited for this finished-product panel. No NSF, USP, or sport-certification listing was verified for this product.

What works

  • A recent, lot-numbered report is publicly posted and includes heavy metals and microbial screening results.
  • The formula identifies both active extracts and their serving amounts, without a proprietary blend.
  • The posted lot report lists lead at 0.436 micrograms per serving, below its stated 0.5 microgram specification.
  • The 120-capsule bottle provides 60 two-capsule servings, which is a practical two-month format at the stated use.

What does not

  • The 200:1 extract ratio is not a meaningful potency marker by itself, and no eurycomanone result is posted.
  • The current lot report uses production-process-control entries for the two botanical amounts rather than showing an independent finished-product assay.
  • No public lot-specific pesticide panel or targeted screen for hidden hormones, prescription-drug analogues, stimulants, or sport-banned substances was found.
  • Marketing says tongkat may boost testosterone, sexual health, strength, and performance, but human trials largely used differently standardized water extracts at lower measured extract doses.
  • The product page contains inconsistent dose language in its FAQ, including an 800 mg per serving statement that conflicts with its current 1,000 mg serving and posted lot report.

Who is it for

This product fits an adult who specifically wants a simple tongkat and low-dose tribulus capsule, prefers a two-month bottle, and values seeing a current manufacturer-posted lot report for metals and microbes. It is better suited to someone treating it as an optional wellness experiment, not as treatment for low testosterone, infertility, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, or a training plateau. The buyer should be comfortable with the fact that the extract is identified by ratio rather than a quantified active marker, so its relationship to the clinical literature is uncertain.

Who is it not for

It is not appropriate for people who are pregnant, nursing, under 18, or using medication without clinician approval. It also does not suit competitive athletes or tested occupations that need a verified banned-substance certification or lot-specific sport screen. People with unexplained low testosterone, sexual symptoms, infertility, liver disease, prior supplement-related liver injury, or significant heart-rhythm symptoms should seek clinical evaluation rather than rely on this formula. Those needing a product matched to a human-tested, marker-standardized tongkat extract should choose a more fully documented option.

Integrity

The posted lot report is useful transparency. It reports arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury below the manufacturer’s listed limits, plus passing results for total plate count, yeast and mold, E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus. However, the product lacks verified independent finished-product certification, a public pesticide panel, and a published targeted adulterant screen. Its marker content is also not disclosed, so the 200:1 ratio cannot establish equivalence to the standardized extracts used in many human studies. Tongkat ali deserves extra caution rather than casual testosterone-booster expectations. A 2021 EFSA assessment of a different standardized tongkat root extract did not establish safety because of genotoxicity findings. NIH LiverTox also notes published reports of clinically apparent liver injury attributed to tongkat ali. These sources do not establish that this product causes those outcomes, but they support avoiding use during pregnancy and lactation and discussing use with a clinician when medications or liver concerns are involved. No documented sourcing origin, cultivation controls, harvest traceability, or packaging-recycling program was found.

#3

Self Obsessed: 10-in-1 Masculinity Maximizer for Men

Buyer Score 93/100Integrity Score 69/100Formulation Factory

Overview

This is a 120-capsule, two-month men's vitality supplement. The manufacturer directs adults to take two capsules each morning with breakfast. Its current manufacturer-stated daily formula combines 300 mg shilajit, 200 mg tongkat ali, 200 mg fadogia agrestis, black maca, ashwagandha, fenugreek, horny goat weed, tribulus, zinc citrate, and boron glycinate. The defining strength is formula disclosure, with milligram amounts rather than a proprietary blend. A manufacturer-posted June 2025 lot report shows low measured heavy metals and negative pathogen results. It is not a current bottle-matched independent report, and most botanical entries are supported by batch records rather than finished-product potency assays. A separate Eurofins report from February 2024 found no targeted sexual-enhancement adulterants in an older lot. No current finished-product certification in major NSF, USP, or sport-certification registers was verified.

What works

  • The daily serving discloses amounts for all 10 listed active ingredients, rather than hiding them in a proprietary blend.
  • A manufacturer-posted 2025 lot report lists low lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury results, plus negative results for listed pathogens.
  • An identifiable Eurofins report found no targeted sexual-enhancement adulterants in an older finished lot.
  • The label includes basic adult-use, medication, medical-condition, adverse-reaction, and under-18 warnings.

What does not

  • The manufacturer labels a California cancer and reproductive-harm warning for lead exposure, despite posting low lead results for one lot. The specific exposure calculation is not provided.
  • No current bottle-matched independent certificate was available to verify identity, labeled amounts, pesticide residues, or contaminants for the product a buyer receives.
  • Tongkat ali is not identified by plant part, extraction method, eurycomanone content, or a verified marker result. That prevents matching it to the better-characterized human studies.
  • Fadogia agrestis is included at 200 mg daily, yet the formula does not provide human safety evidence for that ingredient, and the broad combination has not been clinically tested as a finished product.
  • Marketing promises around raising testosterone and effects within one to two weeks go beyond evidence tied to this unstandardized multi-ingredient formula.

Who is it for

This product is most suited to an adult man who specifically wants a convenient, fully itemized multi-botanical capsule formula and understands that it is a general dietary supplement, not treatment for low testosterone. It fits someone willing to check the bottle lot against the manufacturer materials and discuss use with a clinician when taking medicines or managing a health condition. The 120-capsule format supports the stated two-capsule daily routine for about 60 days. It is not a product with current sport certification or bottle-specific external verification.

Who is it not for

It is not suited to people under 18, anyone pregnant or nursing, or people seeking evaluation or treatment for low testosterone, infertility, erectile dysfunction, cancer, or other medical conditions. People using prescription medicines, particularly those with cardiovascular, endocrine, liver, kidney, or hormone-sensitive conditions, should not treat the label's general consultation statement as individualized interaction screening. Competitive athletes and others requiring banned-substance assurance need a product with a current recognized sport-certification listing. It also does not suit buyers unwilling to accept uncertainty around fadogia safety, botanical standardization, and current lot-specific testing.

Integrity

The manufacturer provides a current-looking lot report with microbiological and elemental-contaminant results, and an older Eurofins report for targeted sexual-enhancement adulterants. Those are useful quality signals, but neither establishes that a buyer's bottle has been independently tested for every active, pesticide residues, or the full range of drug and sport adulterants. The product also carries a California warning for cancer and reproductive harm from lead exposure. The manufacturer does not explain the exposure estimate behind that warning. Tongkat ali has limited human evidence that varies by extract and population, while this product does not state a tongkat ali marker such as eurycomanone. The added fadogia agrestis has a notably thin human safety record. The bottle is listed as PET in a posted lot document, but no verified source country, cultivation or harvest controls, recycled-content statement, or packaging end-of-life program was found. No product-specific recall, FDA warning letter, or health-fraud action was identified in the reviewed U.S. records.

Fadogia Agrestis with Tongkat Ali Max Potency
#4

Fadogia Agrestis with Tongkat Ali Max Potency

Buyer Score 88/100Integrity Score 66/100Rainbow Nutrients, LLC

Overview

This is a 120 vegan-capsule botanical performance formula. Its displayed Supplement Facts panel defines a three-capsule serving as 1,500 mg of 10:1 Fadogia agrestis stem extract, 500 mg of 200:1 tongkat ali, identified as Eurycoma longifolia root, and 10 mg BioPerine black pepper extract. That is 40 labeled servings. The manufacturer directions say to take two or three capsules daily, which creates a range from 40 to 60 days per bottle. The ingredient amounts and plant parts are clearly stated on the manufacturer label, but the 200:1 tongkat extract has no disclosed eurycomanone result or other potency marker. The manufacturer states that every batch receives third-party testing, yet it does not publish a current lot-matched certificate covering identity, dose, metals, pesticides, microbes, or drug adulterants. No finished-product certification was found in the major NSF, USP, or sport-certification registers checked.

What works

  • The displayed label gives separate amounts for all three active ingredients, rather than using a proprietary blend.
  • Tongkat ali is identified as Eurycoma longifolia root, and Fadogia agrestis is identified as stem extract.
  • The manufacturer label uses a vegetable cellulose capsule, which is compatible with a vegan or gelatin-free preference.
  • A three-capsule serving supplies a clearly stated 2,010 mg total of listed active extracts.

What does not

  • No NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice finished-product certification was found for this product.
  • The third-party testing claim is unproven for the bottle being sold because no recent lot-matched report is publicly available.
  • Neither tongkat ali eurycomanone content nor a comparable validated marker is disclosed, so extract ratios do not establish actual potency.
  • The marketing claim of 20-times enhanced absorption and the 115,010 mg raw-herb-equivalent framing are not supported by a product-specific human study or posted test evidence.
  • Public product information does not provide robust pregnancy, medication, liver, kidney, or adverse-reaction guidance despite a high-dose multi-botanical formula.

Who is it for

This product is most suited to an informed adult who specifically wants a capsule formula combining tongkat ali, Fadogia agrestis, and black pepper extract, and who values seeing the stated amount of each ingredient rather than a hidden blend. It fits someone who understands that the bottle provides 40 three-capsule servings, or up to 60 days when following the lower end of the manufacturer directions. It is better suited to people treating the formula as an uncertain botanical supplement, not as a tested testosterone or athletic-performance intervention.

Who is it not for

It is not suited to competitive athletes or workers subject to drug testing, because no sport-certification listing or current lot-specific banned-substance screen was available. It is also not suited to people who are pregnant, nursing, under 18, managing liver or kidney disease, or using prescription medicines without clinician review. People with diagnosed low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, fertility concerns, or persistent fatigue need clinical assessment rather than relying on this formula's performance-oriented marketing. Anyone requiring verified contaminant limits or traceable botanical sourcing will need more documentation than is publicly provided.

Integrity

The manufacturer presents this as a non-GMO, vegan, made-in-USA product and states that it is made in a GMP facility with third-party testing. The publicly available material did not substantiate those quality claims with a verifiable finished-product certification, a current lot certificate, or disclosed limits and results for metals, microbes, pesticides, and banned substances. No relevant FDA warning letter, recall, import alert, or health-fraud action for Rainbow Nutrients was located in the checks performed. The health evidence is not directly transferable to this formula. Some human tongkat ali studies used a standardized 200 mg root-water extract, while this product supplies 500 mg of an unstandardized 200:1 extract plus 1,500 mg of Fadogia stem extract. Fadogia has little human safety evidence, and a rat study reported liver and kidney cellular toxicity signals. EFSA also concluded safety was not established for a different standardized tongkat root extract after genotoxicity concerns. No origin, cultivation, harvest-control, or packaging recyclability documentation was found.

Fadogia Agrestis and Tongkat Ali Performance Blend
#5

Fadogia Agrestis and Tongkat Ali Performance Blend

Buyer Score 86/100Integrity Score 67/100DORADO NUTRITION

Overview

This is a 120-capsule botanical supplement intended for adult use, with a labeled serving of two capsules and 60 servings per bottle. The label archived by the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database lists 600 mg of fadogia agrestis stem powder and 400 mg of tongkat ali, identified as Eurycoma longifolia root powder, per serving. It also lists vegetable cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide. The manufacturer states that the capsules are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, made in the United States, produced in a GMP-certified facility, and independently tested. However, no current lot-specific certificate of analysis, named laboratory, contaminant results, identity testing, or public product certification could be verified. The tongkat ali is a powder rather than a standardized extract, so its eurycomanone content and equivalence to studied extracts are unknown.

What works

  • The label separately discloses both botanical doses, rather than using a proprietary blend.
  • The product identifies tongkat ali by botanical name and specifies root as the plant part.
  • The short ingredient list uses vegetable capsules, and the manufacturer states the formula is vegan and gluten-free.
  • The manufacturer provides a U.S. contact address and phone number on the archived label.

What does not

  • The manufacturer claims independent testing, but no lot-matched report or named independent laboratory was available for verification.
  • Neither botanical has a disclosed marker level, extract specification, or finished-product identity result.
  • Human tongkat ali studies generally used standardized root extracts at 100 mg or 200 mg daily, not this unstandardized 400 mg root-powder formula. Human evidence for fadogia agrestis is essentially absent.
  • Marketing links the blend to muscle mass, strength, drive, and endurance, despite no human trial of this combination and no verified testing that establishes equivalence to studied preparations.
  • Warnings are broad and do not specifically address liver disease, medication use, or the uncertain safety of using an additional serving before activity.

Who is it for

This product suits an informed adult who specifically wants a simple, capsule-based fadogia and tongkat ali combination with both labeled doses visible, rather than a hidden blend. It is most relevant for someone who can discuss supplement use with a clinician, has no pregnancy or nursing considerations, and understands that the 60-serving bottle is not evidence that the botanical powders are standardized or clinically equivalent to research extracts. It also fits buyers who prefer manufacturer-stated vegan and gluten-free capsule attributes.

Who is it not for

It is not suited to people who need independently certified supplements, athlete-safe banned-substance assurance, or a current batch report for metals, microbes, pesticides, identity, and drug adulterants. It is also unsuitable for pregnancy, nursing, minors, people with liver disease, or anyone with a hormone-sensitive condition unless a qualified clinician has reviewed it. Those taking prescription medicines, using other performance or testosterone products, or seeking a product with human evidence for muscle gain or treatment of low testosterone should avoid treating this formula as established therapy.

Integrity

The label identifies tongkat ali as Eurycoma longifolia root, which is preferable to leaving the botanical source unnamed, but it calls both actives powders and gives no standardization marker such as eurycomanone. Human studies of tongkat ali have used specific standardized root extracts, and LiverTox notes limited long-term data plus isolated reports of possible liver injury. Fadogia agrestis has no meaningful human evidence base. The manufacturer’s broad pregnancy, nursing, age, and medical-condition cautions are useful but incomplete for these uncertainties. No public certification record, lot-specific laboratory report, sourcing origin, cultivation record, harvest controls, or packaging-recyclability documentation was found for this product. Dorado Nutrition had a separate brand product recalled in April 2025 for undeclared wheat, not this formula. That recall does not establish a defect in this product, but it is relevant context for quality-control accountability.

Benevolent Nourishment Turkesterone Supplement with BioPerine
#6

Benevolent Nourishment Turkesterone Supplement with BioPerine

Buyer Score 84/100Integrity Score 69/100Benevolent Nourishment

Overview

This is a 120-capsule, 60-serving supplement intended for adults who want a performance and testosterone-support formula. The brand directs users to take two vegetarian capsules daily with water. An independent product database reports 800 mg of Ajuga turkestanica 10:1 extract, 400 mg of tongkat ali root 200:1 extract, and 10 mg of BioPerine black pepper extract per daily serving. The formula is fully quantified rather than hidden in a proprietary blend. However, the seller’s statements that every batch receives third-party testing and is made to GMP standards were not backed by a public, lot-matched finished-product certificate. No current finished-product certification was located in the NSF or USP public certification listings. The seller promotes muscle, strength, stamina, and testosterone-related outcomes more strongly than the disclosed preparation’s evidence can establish.

What works

  • The daily serving is clearly quantified, with 400 mg tongkat ali extract, 800 mg turkesterone extract, and 10 mg BioPerine reported by an independent product database.
  • A 60-serving bottle and once-daily two-capsule directions offer a straightforward two-month routine, according to the manufacturer.
  • The disclosed capsule formula is vegetarian and does not list caffeine or other conventional stimulants.
  • No product-specific FDA recall, warning letter, import alert, or health-fraud notice was located in the searches reviewed.

What does not

  • No NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice finished-product certification was found in the relevant public registries.
  • The manufacturer says batches are third-party tested, but does not publish a recent lot-matched report showing identity, potency, heavy metals, pesticides, microbes, or banned-substance results.
  • The tongkat ali entry is described as a 200:1 root extract, but no eurycomanone percentage or finished-product botanical authentication result is publicly available.
  • Marketing claims such as clinically proven lean-muscle gains and 20-times better absorption are not substantiated for this exact formula. The 88,010 mg equivalence figure is raw-material-equivalent arithmetic, not the measured capsule dose.

Who is it for

This product suits an adult who specifically wants a once-daily capsule blend of disclosed tongkat ali extract, turkesterone extract, and black pepper extract, and who understands that it is a general supplement rather than treatment for low testosterone. It may fit someone who values a 60-day bottle and vegetarian capsules, and who is prepared to judge results conservatively. The best use case is a healthy adult already focused on training, adequate food intake, sleep, and recovery, not someone seeking a rapid hormonal or muscle-building effect.

Who is it not for

It is not well suited to competitive athletes or other buyers who need documented banned-substance screening, because no sport-certification or lot-specific screening result is publicly available. People using prescription medicines, especially medicines with narrow safety margins, should seek pharmacist or clinician advice because black pepper extract can affect drug metabolism. Avoid self-treating fatigue, infertility, erectile dysfunction, or suspected low testosterone with this product. Pregnant or breastfeeding people, minors, and people with hormone-sensitive conditions or unexplained liver symptoms should choose clinician-guided care instead.

Integrity

The most useful health detail is the disclosed daily formula, 800 mg Ajuga turkestanica 10:1 extract, 400 mg tongkat ali root 200:1 extract, and 10 mg BioPerine. Human tongkat ali research has used particular standardized water extracts, commonly with marker testing, and results are mixed. This product does not publicly document that its 200:1 extract matches those preparations or provide eurycomanone testing. Its 400 mg tongkat amount therefore should not be treated as proof of the advertised testosterone or muscle outcomes. The manufacturer states that its ingredients come from small farmers and ethical wild harvesters and that herbs are hand-harvested, but it does not publish country of origin, cultivation or harvest permits, chain-of-custody records, or root-specific sustainability documentation. No recyclable-content or reduced-packaging specification was found. The company also says each batch is third-party tested, yet no lot-specific report was publicly available to confirm contaminant or adulterant control for a bottle being sold.

Vimerson Health Testosterone Support Supplement
#7

Vimerson Health Testosterone Support Supplement

Buyer Score 83/100Integrity Score 67/100Vimerson Health

Overview

This is a 60-capsule tongkat ali product in vegetarian capsules. The listed use is one capsule daily with a meal, providing a manufacturer-stated 400 mg of 100:1 tongkat ali extract. The product page also identifies the botanical as Eurycoma longifolia, but it does not provide a marker level such as eurycomanone, root documentation, or a finished-product identity report. The product is presented for testosterone support, energy, stamina, libido, strength, muscle growth, and recovery. Human studies of tongkat ali have used defined, standardized root extracts, commonly with measured eurycomanone, so those findings cannot be directly assigned to this unstandardized 100:1 extract. The listing claims third-party testing and an NSF-verified manufacturing facility, but no public finished-product certification, lot-matched certificate of analysis, or athlete-safe registry record was located.

What works

  • The listed formula is straightforward, with 400 mg of a single tongkat ali extract per daily capsule, rather than a proprietary blend.
  • A 60-capsule bottle and one-capsule daily directions make the stated serving plan simple to follow.
  • The listing provides adult-use, pregnancy and nursing, medication, and medical-condition cautions.
  • The product is described by the manufacturer as vegetarian and made without a multi-ingredient stimulant stack.

What does not

  • The 100:1 extract ratio does not establish botanical potency. No eurycomanone result, root authentication record, or independent finished-product identity test was found.
  • No public certification confirms this finished product, despite the listing's facility-level NSF wording and third-party-testing claim.
  • No lot-specific independent report was located for heavy metals, pesticides, microbes, labeled amount, or hidden drug and sport-banned substances.
  • The Amazon page carries California warnings for lead and lead compounds, plus inorganic arsenic and lead. That is a concrete contaminant-control concern, not merely missing documentation.
  • Muscle-building, testosterone, recovery, and performance marketing goes beyond evidence that can be matched to this specific unstandardized extract.

Who is it for

This product is most suited to an adult who specifically wants a low-complexity tongkat ali trial, prefers one daily vegetarian capsule, and understands that the 400 mg amount and 100:1 ratio are manufacturer-stated rather than independently verified. It may fit someone who values avoiding a proprietary blend and is prepared to monitor for unwanted effects. This use case is limited to people who have reviewed the California exposure warning and can discuss supplement use with a clinician when they take medicines or have ongoing health conditions.

Who is it not for

It is not suited to pregnant or nursing people, minors, competitive athletes needing verified banned-substance protection, or anyone seeking a product with publicly verifiable lot testing. People with liver disease, hormone-sensitive conditions, prostate symptoms, fertility concerns, or unexplained fatigue should seek clinical assessment rather than self-treating with a testosterone-marketed supplement. It is also a poor fit for buyers who want independently confirmed heavy-metal control, a quantified eurycomanone standard, or evidence that directly matches the extract sold here.

Integrity

The listing states that the capsules are vegetarian, non-GMO, made in the United States with global ingredients, and produced in a cGMP-certified and NSF-verified facility. Those are manufacturer claims. A search of NSF's public dietary-supplement certification register did not verify certification of this finished product, and no public lot certificate was found to confirm purity, identity, or the claimed 400 mg dose. The Amazon page displays California warnings for lead and lead compounds, and for inorganic arsenic and lead. It also lacks public sourcing details for the root, including country of origin, cultivation or harvest controls, and chain-of-custody records. No recyclable-content, reduced-packaging, or sustainable-harvest documentation was located. The botanical has human research, but the better-studied products were standardized root extracts, not an extract defined only by a 100:1 ratio.

Jungle Powders Tongkat Ali Extract Powder
#8

Jungle Powders Tongkat Ali Extract Powder

Buyer Score 81/100Integrity Score 72/100Jungle Powders

Overview

This is a loose powder supplement in a 5-ounce resealable bag. Jungle Powders states that one included scoop provides 500 mg of 200:1 Eurycoma longifolia root extract, with 282 servings per bag. It is intended to be mixed into a small amount of liquid, despite a naturally strong bitter taste. The formula is manufacturer-stated as 95% extract and 5% corn maltodextrin, with no other active ingredients listed. The company publicly posts a certificate of analysis for a named batch, which reports TLC identity testing plus heavy-metal and microbiological checks. This is useful disclosure, but the report does not name the laboratory, provide numerical results for each metal, quantify eurycomanone, show pesticide or drug-adulterant screening, or establish that it matches the pouch a buyer receives. No NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice certification was verified.

What works

  • The label gives a concrete 500 mg daily serving, botanical name, root plant part, extract ratio, and carrier ingredient.
  • It is a simple formula, with tongkat ali extract as the sole listed active ingredient and 5% corn maltodextrin stated for powder stability.
  • A manufacturer-posted batch report includes TLC identity testing and screens for lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, total plate count, yeast and mold, E. coli, Salmonella, and S. aureus.
  • The powder format and included scoop can suit people who prefer to avoid capsules.

What does not

  • The posted analysis identifies no laboratory or accreditation, and its results cannot be matched to a purchased pouch from the available information.
  • The 200:1 ratio is not a measured potency marker. No eurycomanone result, extraction solvent, or validated botanical-authentication documentation is provided.
  • No finished-batch pesticide panel, targeted hidden-drug screen, or sport-banned-substance certification was verified.
  • Warnings are limited to consulting a healthcare provider. The product page does not give specific medication, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or adverse-reaction guidance.
  • Human trials have used particular standardized extracts, commonly at 100 mg or 200 mg daily. This product's 500 mg, 200:1 extract is not shown to be chemically comparable.

Who is it for

This product most directly suits an adult who specifically wants a low-cost, single-botanical tongkat ali powder rather than capsules, and who is comfortable measuring one 500 mg scoop into a small drink. Its long stated supply can be practical for a person already familiar with the herb's bitter flavor and who values a disclosed carrier-free-style formula, apart from 5% maltodextrin. It is better suited to someone treating it as an optional supplement, not as a treatment for low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, infertility, or a performance problem.

Who is it not for

It is not suited to tested athletes or others who need strong protection from banned substances, because no NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Sport, or comparable lot verification was found. It is also a poor fit for pregnancy or breastfeeding, people using prescription medicines, and anyone with hormone-related, liver, cardiovascular, or mental-health concerns unless a clinician reviews it first. People who need a product with quantified eurycomanone, pesticide results, a named accredited laboratory, or a report matched to their exact pouch will need more documentation than is available here.

Integrity

The useful quality signal is the manufacturer's publicly available batch report. It lists root as the plant part, reports TLC identity conformity, and includes heavy-metal and microbiological specifications. However, it is not an independently verifiable certification. The report does not identify its laboratory, disclose a eurycomanone assay, quantify each metal result, or cover pesticides and targeted drug adulterants. No product-specific sport certification was verified. Human research on tongkat ali is limited and uses specific standardized preparations that cannot be assumed equivalent to this 200:1 powder. An EFSA safety opinion on a different standardized tongkat ali root water extract found potential DNA-damage concerns and did not establish safety under the uses assessed. That opinion does not establish that this product has the same risk, but it reinforces the need for cautious use. Jungle Powders describes the root as sustainably sourced, but no origin, cultivation, harvest, chain-of-custody, or packaging-recyclability documentation was provided.

Tribulus Terrestris Testosterone Booster for Men
#9

Tribulus Terrestris Testosterone Booster for Men

Buyer Score 78/100Integrity Score 66/100Vimerson Health

Overview

This is a 30-capsule, once-daily men's supplement marketed for testosterone support, libido, stamina, training, and muscle performance. An independently mirrored retail listing describes 100 mg DHEA, 200 mg tribulus, 100 mg tongkat ali root powder, 85 mg rhodiola extract, plus deer antler powder, chrysin, alpha lipoic acid, octacosanol, vitamin B6, magnesium, and zinc per capsule. The formula is individually quantified rather than hidden in a proprietary blend, which makes the daily intake easier to assess. However, the tongkat ali is identified as Eurycoma longifolia root powder, not a standardized extract with a disclosed eurycomanone result. No public lot-matched certificate of analysis, finished-product certification, or public sport-banned-substance screen was located for this product.

What works

  • One capsule per day and 30 capsules per bottle provide a simple 30-day routine.
  • The publicly mirrored formula lists individual ingredient amounts rather than using a proprietary blend.
  • Tongkat ali is named as Eurycoma longifolia root powder, giving the botanical a species-level identity.
  • The product is tied to an identifiable brand and manufacturer, and no directly applicable FDA recall or warning letter was located in the searched records.

What does not

  • No public registry entry was located for certification of this exact finished product by NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice.
  • No recent lot-specific independent report was found for identity, label amount, heavy metals, pesticides, microbes, or hidden-drug screening.
  • The 100 mg tongkat ali ingredient is plain root powder with no disclosed extraction method or eurycomanone standardization, unlike the standardized extracts used in much of the human research.
  • The testosterone, muscle-builder, libido, and performance framing exceeds what can be established for this mixed formula. Tribulus and DHEA evidence does not establish muscle or athletic benefit at the stated use.
  • DHEA is a hormone precursor, yet the publicly available product information does not show robust, product-specific medication, hormone-sensitive-condition, or adverse-effect guidance.

Who is it for

This product is most relevant to an adult man who wants a low-burden, one-capsule daily formula and specifically prefers disclosed amounts for a broad mix of DHEA, tribulus, tongkat ali, rhodiola, minerals, and vitamin B6. It may fit someone who is already discussing hormone-related supplements with a clinician and wants a 30-day format. Its listed price also places it in a modest monthly supplement budget. The product information does not establish that it will improve testosterone, muscle gain, or athletic results.

Who is it not for

It is not appropriate for children, adolescents, pregnant or breastfeeding people, or people seeking treatment for low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, infertility, fatigue, or reduced libido. Those concerns need clinical assessment. People with hormone-sensitive cancers, prostate conditions, mood disorders, liver disease, or endocrine conditions should avoid self-starting a DHEA-containing formula without clinician input. It is also a poor fit for tested athletes and for buyers who require a publicly verifiable lot report for contaminants and prohibited substances before using a performance-marketed supplement.

Integrity

The main safety issue is the 100 mg DHEA content. DHEA is a hormone precursor that can affect androgen activity and can interact with hormone-related care. NIH's exercise-performance review found no evidence that DHEA improves strength, lean mass, or testosterone in the cited athletic research. Human tongkat ali research has used specific standardized root extracts, often with eurycomanone content disclosed, so its findings cannot be assumed to apply to this unstandardized 100 mg root-powder ingredient. No public finished-product certification, lot-specific certificate of analysis, or batch-specific heavy-metal, pesticide, microbe, adulterant, or sport-banned-substance result was found. An independent retailer repeats a claim that the product is made in a cGMP-certified, NSF-verified facility, but facility status is not certification of this product. No source was found documenting country of origin, cultivation or harvest controls for the roots, or lower-waste and recyclable packaging. Non-GMO and pork-free statements are manufacturer claims, not environmental sourcing evidence.

aSquared Nutrition Fadogia Agrestis & Tongkat Ali Supplement
#10

aSquared Nutrition Fadogia Agrestis & Tongkat Ali Supplement

Buyer Score 76/100Integrity Score 67/100aSquared Nutrition

Overview

This capsule product supplies a labeled daily serving of 1,000 mg Fadogia agrestis stem extract plus 400 mg tongkat ali root extract. The manufacturer directs adults to take two capsules daily with a meal. A 120-capsule bottle is presented as a 60-day supply, and the listed capsule material is methylcellulose, consistent with the vegan claim. The main positive is that both botanicals have stated serving amounts instead of being hidden in an unnamed blend. However, the product does not identify tongkat ali as Eurycoma longifolia on the available formula information, state an extraction ratio or eurycomanone content, or publish a lot-matched certificate of analysis. The brand states that the formula is third-party tested in an ISO 17025 facility, but no current finished-product report, laboratory identity, lot number, contaminant panel, or banned-substance screen was available for independent checking.

What works

  • Both active botanicals are assigned stated amounts per daily serving, rather than concealed behind an unnamed blend.
  • The available ingredient information identifies the plant parts, Fadogia stem and tongkat ali root, and lists methylcellulose as the other ingredient.
  • The two-capsule daily directions and 120-capsule bottle create a simple manufacturer-stated 60-day regimen.
  • The brand publicly identifies itself and sells the same formula through its own store.

What does not

  • No NSF, USP, Informed Sport, or Informed Choice certification for this finished product was located in the relevant public registers.
  • The brand's third-party testing statement is unproven for the bottle sold because no recent, lot-matched independent laboratory report was posted.
  • Tongkat ali is not standardized to eurycomanone or another marker on the available product information, so identity and potency cannot be matched to clinical extracts.
  • Safety evidence is limited for this combination. A 2021 EFSA assessment found that a different standardized tongkat ali root extract had unresolved genotoxicity concerns, and animal research has reported liver and kidney cell toxicity signals with Fadogia agrestis stem extract.
  • Marketing support for energy, muscle growth, endurance, immunity, and recovery reaches beyond human evidence for this unstandardized two-ingredient formula.

Who is it for

This product is most suited to an informed adult who specifically wants a capsule combination of labeled Fadogia agrestis and tongkat ali amounts, prefers a vegan capsule, and values a 60-day bottle. That buyer should understand that the stated 400 mg tongkat ali amount is not linked to a disclosed marker level or a published finished-product test. It fits people seeking an herbal formula with transparent headline quantities, not people who need clinically matched extracts or verified contaminant results.

Who is it not for

It is not appropriate for people who are pregnant, nursing, under 18, preparing for surgery, managing liver or kidney disease, or taking prescription medicines without clinician review. It is also a poor fit for competitive athletes, military personnel, or drug-tested workers because no public lot-specific banned-substance screen or sport-certification listing was found. Anyone seeking treatment for low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, infertility, fatigue, or hormone-related symptoms should seek medical assessment rather than rely on this supplement.

Integrity

The formula is relatively simple, with two disclosed botanical extracts and a methylcellulose capsule. That transparency does not establish the extracts' authenticity, potency, or contamination control. The manufacturer says the product is made in the United States, produced in a GMP-certified facility, and third-party tested in an ISO 17025 facility, but it does not provide a bottle-specific report that independently verifies those quality claims. Tongkat ali safety remains unsettled. EFSA's 2021 safety opinion concerned a different standardized root-water extract, not this product, but found potential DNA-damage concerns and did not establish safety under any use condition. A rat study of Fadogia agrestis stem extract also reported liver and kidney cellular-toxicity signals. No product-specific recall, FDA warning letter, or health-fraud listing was located in the checked U.S. sources. No origin, cultivation, harvest, or packaging-recyclability documentation was found, so root sourcing and environmental impact remain unverified.
